19/20 July: Commissioner Ciolos consults Europeans This is a crucial time for food and agriculture in Europe since the new policy that is under discussion could be law for about ten years. Export subisidies milk On 23 January the Commission announced that export subsidies will become available for MILK. In December the quotum was enlarged, even though surpluses have been accumulating for some time and prices have fallen. Farmers in Europe and elsewhere are indignant and feel cheated.
